Well workshopping went well.
They pretty much told me that they did not understand my purpose, yet it was incredibly well written.
I have to turn in a revised copy, and I’m struggling because it makes so much sense to me. They said that I need to TELL more, but I think they need to be more analytical when reading… A half hour workshop isn’t the place for literary analysis, but now I’m left feeling crazy and they just think I’m crazy.
I thought I had the theme explicitly stated in places; do they lack the imagination to pick up on that and apply it to the rest of the imagery? Or is it really that disjointed?
I need someone to read it, more than once, and tell me plainly if it makes sense or not.
After all, is not most literature we read and cherish the kind that takes more than one reading to fully understand its meaning?
